Protection for Progression

Pro-Tec was founded in the early 70's around the same time as the first urethane skateboard wheels were introduced. For many reasons, this was a historically significant time in the evolution of skateboarding. These new wheels provided much better traction and speed and allowed skaters to push the difficulty of maneuvers to new levels. Bigger, faster and more technical tricks meant bigger consequences. Pro-Tec helmets were quickly adopted by the same pioneering skaters that were forming the the foundation of modern skateboarding by riding transitions and vertical walls in the backyard pools of Southern California. It was this innovative and rebellious moment that came to define what Pro-Tec represents today. At a time well before what mainstream society considered the board culture "extreme", Pro-Tec was equipping skaters with the same classic helmet styles that still define the Pro-Tec aesthetic.

With the most recognizable style of helmets, Pro-Tec designs are often imitated, but never duplicated. You can't fake authenticity and company heritage. Today, Pro-Tec provides innovative technology while still maintaining our classic style and providing the very best in protective equipment.

Hey, thanks for the awesome Pro-Tec gear! Now I'm not going to fear for my life when I try to ride my SE Cruiser at the BMX track with my kid. I might even be brave enough to go to Etnies skatepark with him. Um, maybe... ;-)

Sweet! For reals, I just got two boxes of the Pro-Tec gear I asked for! Can't believe it, you guys are awesome! I'll post a pic when I go to the track with my kid next time! I really needed a full-face helmet. Thanks a million! :-D

My kid is 6 and has two Pro-Tec helmets for BMX, an Alistair Whitton and a full-face. I like the Shovelhead 2 for myself 'cuz I'm just starting to practice at the BMX track on my SE Cruiser. And I pretty much suck so the more protection for my noggin the better. We can't leave the poor tyke with an injured mother, now can we (is this guilt thing working...?)?

Yo yo! Pro-Tec is the sheezy! I bought all the skate gear along time ago. It's taken mad abuse and all of it is still in pretty good shape. I wouldn't cop anything else, so now that I'm into BMX I'll stay with ya! For me, I like the White Auger Helmet, the Knuckle Sandwich Gloves and of course need the Street Knee, Elbow and Wrist Pads! Sign me up for the contest! Thanks!!!!

Nice gear coming from these guys. I have an older wake helmet from Pro-Tec and the interior came detached and had to be secured with zip ties through the holes in the top. Other than that this helmet has been part of my gear for a few years now. I love the new two face wake helmet. It's really stylized and has a look that is unmatched by other helmets.
